UNDERSTAND THE TOOL
A QR code is a two-dimensional barcode that stores information in a pattern of dark and light modules. Phones and scanners can decode that pattern quickly, making QR codes useful for links, plain text, contact details, email addresses and Wi-Fi information.
Quick QR converts the information you provide into a QR symbol. The payload type affects what a scanning phone does next: a URL can open a website, an email payload can prepare a message, and Wi-Fi details can help a compatible device join a network.
The image itself is the encoded data. Larger sizes are usually easier to scan when printed, while error-correction settings add redundancy so a code can survive a degree of damage or obstruction. More data generally creates a denser pattern.
For a poster, encode the final HTTPS page address, generate the code at a generous size and test it from several phones before printing. A code that works on a monitor is not automatically guaranteed to scan well when printed very small.
The pattern is only data, but it can point to an unsafe destination. The same caution used for unfamiliar links should be used for unfamiliar QR codes.
It adds redundant data that can help a scanner recover the content if part of the code is dirty, damaged or obscured.
Yes, but leave clear space around it and test the printed result at the intended size.
