The calculation or process
Unit Switch applies the mathematical relationship between the selected source and destination units. Some conversions use a simple multiplier, while temperature needs both scaling and an offset.
Different units. Same answer.
Switch categories to convert length, weight, volume, temperature, area and speed.
UNDERSTAND THE TOOL
Unit conversion changes the numerical representation of a measurement without changing the underlying quantity. It is common when recipes, building materials, travel information and technical specifications use different measurement systems.

Precision matters. A converted value can display more decimal places than are useful, but rounding too early can create noticeable errors when that value is used in another calculation.
One metre is approximately 3.28084 feet. Converting 2.5 metres therefore gives about 8.2021 feet. For practical work you might round that further, but the right precision depends on what you are measuring.
Many conversion factors do not produce terminating decimals, so the exact value is represented approximately.
No. An imperial gallon and a US gallon are different volumes.
No. Only the unit and numeric representation change.
